well then i have to say that a more turn-based oriented server where it doesn't matter at witch particular point inside the tick u performed certain actions would be fun

The only way to do that would be to overhaul the system to be based on an individual's launch. So instead of every hour (30 min, 15 min, etc.) the tick changes, you would be launching at x time and in exactly 3 hours, you'd land (or something similar). Therefore, everyone takes the exact same amount of time. However, this would make defense a LOT harder to manage and overall, make things more confusing to figure out

no,i did not ment like that,i ment like this :
if u launch ship at tick T everyone but u will not be able to see it until T+1
If u put sp on op on tick T sp will activate in tick T+1...
etc

so a more chess-like version of BD good for old timers and noobs wanting to understand the game

That wouldn't be chess like. In chess, you see your opponent's move and respond to it. This version would essentially be both sides making moves blindly to start and then next turn would see the results. This would simply make attacking easier and defending harder (which defeats the purpose of having defense move quicker than offense). Activity has always been a big part of BD and I don't think we should punish players who are active (which is what this would do).

well,i have to disagree with u on that, responding to enemy move after u see it its usualy far too late
and about unballance im shure adjustments can be made
anyway..i can play from work now and then but problem is that far too often a client requires my attention exactly in those 2 mins window i have to launch or put sp or try spy att or whatever
this is extremely annoying
i would like a BD server that i can play from work, more strategy and less quick hand and very reliable and fast internet connection involved

Wouldn't we all love it if the game conformed to our schedule
if you can't be on eot, then launch prior. You don't HAVE to follow that rule, it's simply helpful. Maybe a faster tick speed would benefit you then as the tick changes occur at different times, so you can make more of them.

... *Edit*
Sorry it's an error. It was meant to be posted on another thread "Faceful Cowards".
