Discussion for all things stargate! Woot!
My personal favorites are SG1, then Atlantis. i'm not that big a fan of Universe so far. But i do pride myself on being the foremost expert on all things Stargate, so i must continue to watch and re-watch Universe, for the continual expansion of my SG knowledge.

So... am i alone in the feeling that Universe is a Copy off of Battlestar Galactica?

Well they are also trying to survive....
And those weapons on "Earth" looked alot like the battery guns on Galactica...

and the drama... and the sex in the pilot, and the focus on plot development through character development instead of a story development (and history)... its not really stargate if its based on the people instead of the mythology :/

Well if your saying that Universe is the new BSG than i disagree.
Galactica had very different characters , with some interesting backstory. Lots of them were involved with eachother before it began.

By the way i just came up with the plothole (possible spoilers)
So if Destiny has the ability to get energy from a star , than why didnt the ships on SGA have the same ability , also being many years advanced?!

well, first off, the SGA ships were battle cruisers.... if that sort of technology were to fall into the hands of the wraith, they could literally super-soak their hives inside of suns... and that would be VERY bad
It seems that this area of the ancient technology is pre-ZPM, so they used things like planet cores and suns to power their stuff

As to a replacement of BSG, no... SGU isn't, because it is tryin to get the best of both... the backstory behind SGU has to stay Stargate, but the way they are focusing the story on the characters is much more of a BSG design. Stargate has focused more on the story and mythology instead of characters... which is why i always loved stargate. Anyone can figure out a person, or relate to a person who is a character on a show.... but its so hard to directly relate to an alien history, and it forces us to imagine... which is what Sci-fi is about
