As your units gain experience through battles they can reach up to range 6 I think...
My maximum range units I have had was 5

This is for super mechs, not battledawn.

They use to have weapons with ranges like these quite a while back. I liked them, however the devs decided that the current mechanics of the game better suit the current weapon ranges.
