But back to the topic of forcing people to vote;
Most people don't care about politics, whether they are forced to vote or not, and will just vote for whoever the newspapers tell them to.
So the only real difference between voluntary, and compulsory voting, isn't that the country becomes more/less democratic/represented, or that it becomes less/more free, it's that some people are punished unless they waste a day of their lives doing something that they neither care, know about, or want to do.
But I think the main problem with both choices, is that there is a lot of misinformed, random, popularity, or ignorant voting.
In fact, the best system would be a technocratic democracy (anyone can choose to vote, as long as they show they understand what they're actually voting for).
But seeing as that isn't a option here, and it now seems to be between compulsory voting, or no voting, I'd rather not vote than be forced to vote, in a system where voting doesn't really matter anyway, so I'm changing my vote to
