Why were colony names taken out of the game? I sort of miss it..

If I had to guess I'd say it was needlessly taking up space on the leaderboards when useful information could actually be displayed.

we have our own "commander's name" why should we have the colony name also?

This is not necessary so i think this option was removed because of this.
