It doesn't have 2 be that bad; if two players don't like each other, they'll just drag each other out and either suicide into the other or go inactive. Happens in pre-set alliances, will happen even worse here.
I dunno if putting my name on the hat, not sure what my future has in store for me, so once I'm sure of it I can put my name in or say no.

Well if they allowed a trade if 2 players absolutely hated each other the problem would be avoided..

Not really, that defeats the purpose of the whole thing. Whoever the team leaders are should think about who they are picking and if they get along with the rest of their team.

If it's a crazy extreme situation and everyone agreed to the trade.. Milan could oversee this stuff it would work fine..

Trades promote friendship. Friendship promotes end round alliances. End round alliances promote Relic hugging. Relic Hugging eliminates competition. Lack of Competition ruins battledawn.

Transitive property: Trades ruin battledawn.

I know this wouldnt be the case in all situations, but I know I wouldnt want to trade a player to an enemy alliance unless he sucked... in which case I'd rather just kick and play with 9.

Yes but it defeats the purpose of picking teams because then people just trade and make their normal teams. Like I said though it is the leaders job to know who works well together and who hates each other. If they make a stupid pick and put 2 mortal enemies on the same team then they will suffer for it.

If this was to work I would suggest 4 corners , say a space map divided into 4 pieces. 4 alliances with a east vs west theam. As it would allow more to participate. IE 2v2
