I like the idea of changing quit into surrender. other then that I find nothing wrong with the current quitting process. (mostly because I don't use it and if other people quit that's their problem.)

I believe that changing a "quit" to a "surrender" would be the way to go. Perhaps it would make it 'feel' a tad more satisfying.

Also, with more players on today, matchmaking feels much better.

Quitting in the middle of battle isn't as bad as it is during first round.

If opponent quits during a battle, you'll get some amount of money (that depends how much damage was done) but if opponent quits at 1st round, winner doesn't get a dime.

How about giving 10% of total round winnings to the player who didn't quit?

For example:
My mech is lvl20 and i'll earn 1950 credits if i win a full battle (when both mechs are at lvl20). If opponent quits during first round i'd get 195 credits for it. But right now, i don't get a dime.

Items in shop are expensive and it takes forever to collect enough credits to buy a better mech. Especially when about half of the opponents quit at 1st round after seeing my mech (which is easely recognizable due to it's full black paintjob).

Actually your suggested 1000 as a compensation when opponent quits at 1st round will be too much.

The rewards increase with your mech level, 50 IGC per level.
E.g. at lvl20, reward is 1950; at lvl33, reward is 2600; at lvl51 reward is 3500 etc.

My suggested 10% of total round winnings is a nice compensation though.
So, getting 195 at lvl20; 260 at lvl 33; 350 at lvl51 etc would be nice.

Ten percent of something is better than a hundred percent of nothing.

Yeah, quitters can be rather annoying, but is not like they where gonna win anyways, so I don't mind.

Quitters should lose a small amount of money. (half or 1/4 the amount of the win amount they would have got.
