I don't like quitters, and they don't like me (well, I assume so, otherwise, why would they quit?)
I could just suggest removing the quit button, or penalising the quitters (give all their money to the winner), but these aren't good options.
It would be better to either encourage quitters to play (they usually quit against someone they have just lost to, so maybe they gain a small bonus if they have recently lost) -or- Quitters quit because they don't like re-fighting someone, so maybe after loosing (or just loosing badly) you get an option to avoid matchups against that player again (but only last for that session and mech build)
Also, rename 'quit' to 'surrender' or something

How about when someone quits, the computer takes over their mech, so we at least get to finish the battle.

Imagine if the computer takes over and it wins against you for whatever strange reason. I would not like that. Skynet?

However, we can't go giving bonuses to the person who is having someone quit on them because it would encourage farming. agfreed

Imagine if the computer takes over and it wins against you for whatever strange reason. I would not like that. What're the chances? The argument is that a player who is LOSING quits the game..... So now a computer takes over a player who is already pretty much defeated....and has no chance of winning. What are the chances that an AI designed in a simple turn based game is going to be able to comeback from that...especially with limited options, and low low HP.
EVEN IF we were to argue that a player could just join and leave, then the Computer is a full strength with all available options - no one is going to get benefit out of constantly joining games and quitting, there is no farming clause here. So, while your statement was done in good intentions , its groundless :

I think the best solution I have come to after having spent 20 mins one day waiting for matches and I kept getting this one person who quit everytime. I think we were matched 15 times in a row in the 20 mins.
My solution would be you can only quit 3 times before battle begins then you must face the next person you are matched with and fight.
Personally I do not understand those that quit yet want to play PvP. I have lost 4 or 5 matches in a row to the same player. I never quit on them I went in and tried to put a different weapon on my mech to which they did not have a resit to, or I put a different resist on my mech to help with the damage they were doing. I do not think over the course of the night where I did not win at least a battle from a person later.
I applaud anyone who is willing to lose a number of times, but who also is willing to tinker with their ride to win. It is a nice feeling when you finally get one over on the guy who has been beating you up.
Finally why not fight provided you do not blow kits off in a losing battle really you are out nothing short a loss in your stats which you get by quitting anyways. Hence why quiting does not make any sense to me.

I dont really mind when someone quits to be honest. Its that much faster that I get another win. And I will admit, when I know it is hopeless, I will often just give up the loss & quit myself. Especially if the match is horribly imbalanced. Ive been matched with players 8 levels above me and below me.
If it is during battle, and I realize that I have lost the match, I will sometimes quit as well. I equate it to "tipping the king" in chess. In this layout, since the win is still a win, it doesnt necessarily seem like poor sportsmanship to me?
I think the majority of quitters currently are due to poor matchmaking, which is one area I think we need to put a little bit of work into. Other than that, I dont see the problem with conceding the match. Perhaps it would ease the pain if there was an emote or something. Just a way for the losing player who concedes to say "GG" or something. Balance the quit with some sportsmanship for more...'honor' I suppose is the word I would use...
