I like the stats for the torso my mech has, but prefer the design of other mecha.
So I suggest two things
1-Be able to buy (for a small price) the outer covering of another torso, to place on your equipped torso (also be able to keep it, and the colour scheme when you upgrade the torso).
2-Have the torso and torso covering as separate items (and if you don't equip a cover, you see all the metal insides, like in The Terminator

Side suggestion
-The torso covers getting knocked off if health is near 0

Hmmm how much of a price would you have to pay for this?

What about designs and aesthetics that have a different number of wep slots?

I believe that this would be cool but it just doesn't make sense to be able to do that and I think this is enough to deter the devs to do something like this.

If you got to keep it for future mechs, and keep the paint scheme, I wouldn't mind paying the full price for a one off.

The torsos images on their own don't seem to actually have slots for weapons on them, so I don't see this being a problem visually.
