it must eat into skype's registry... try remove skype completely including the registry, then reinstall it

if doesn't work, restore the computer to a point before the infection

Aye. System restore might just be the way to go. If you want to remove skype & all it's registry entries, Revo Uninstaller does that. CCleaner can help clean up registry anomalies too. Just be sure to make a registry backup (CCleaner does that too) and save it somewhere easy to get to, such as your desktop, or root directory.
