well here we go

tank needs less xp to lvl up than an equal amount of units of other chassis. For a whole squad, 30 inf would need 900 xp to lvl up (30 xp for each unit), while 15 veh need 750 xp (50 for each) and 10 tanks need 700 xp (70 each).

tank has the most HP and the least amount of unit in a squad, make it receive the least damage in cases of radiations. And they being the most HP means that there are chances that a tank will survive while 1 or 2 out of 3 infs (3 infs = 1 tank comparison here) are already killed. This slightly decrease the casualties as well as increase the damage.

explosive units die first (unless xp step in), this make it receive less damage as the battle drags in. On the other hand, inf units receive a lot more damage as the concussive units are the one who will die last.

there are several other insignificant advantages that don't have to be mentioned as well...
