The easiest way would be to put a / symbol and the basic color word followed by whatever you wanted to say.
therefore, if you typed:
"/red I want my text to be red"
it would then output to look like:
"I want my text to be red"
You can also use basic BBCode tags for colors, just as you would when posting here in the forum.
To see an example of how to do that, just type a reply here on the forum, then click and drag over your text to select all (or just CTRL + A to select all), and then click one of the colors on the right of the text entry area, and it will then "wrap" your text in BBCode for the color you chose.
You will then see the BBCOde tags at the beginning and end of your text. You could use the same code in the chat box to change your text color.
