Which is good news right? So, these appeals stand null and void coz it does not happen anymore... why getting after him for something which has happened in the past and does not happen anymore?

I would stil stick to my point where i said he has always replied to my mgs within the defined window. BTW, i wud like to raise one point, one should always contact admin when he is absolutely sure of the things, i mean if u send him msg'es 10 times without solid facts to back it up, obviously your 11th msg is bound to get ignored.. Am sure when Joe logs on in any of his worlds he gets atleast 100+ new msgs each time...!! ATLEAST..!!

There has been so much problems with joe as an admin since i started playing i dont even know where to begin lol

milano i was on ur team for awhile on that f6 server so i know exactly what ur saying wit that but that is just one of prolly 1000s of joes failings as an admin. im shocked that the bd staff would even allow someone to work here and ruin the game as long as he has.

this forum will never help tho so we are all wasting our times.. gl to u tho sen :D

Well, u have already explained why u are exaggerating this by saying "milano i was on ur team for awhile on that f6 server".. i can understand u need to support your buddy no matter what...!!

I haven't spoken to this guy in over a year. He was still in the chat I got these quotes from, and as some others were discussing this thread in there earlier he must have seen. There wasn't even a convo going at the time he posted, so no. I did not in any way ask him, and that F6 was the only time I played with him. In that same chat he even said I got him banned once, so I don't think it's a personal favor, lol.

Quote:
"that is just one of prolly 1000s of joes failings as an admin" ... Can you put all those 1000s instances here? Because, I am sure there will be 2 good instances for every single instance you put here..!!

You're saying Joe only does stuff correctly 66% of the time? ;) That's a rather low success rate for an admin.

Quote:
Regarding you saying joe is too late to respond to cheat reports, go and check F3 or M3..there are a few certain set of players who try to cheat in his world every era, and they always get banned and their number count is in hundreds every round..!! It takes time and efforts and ample evidence to ban someone, and the unfair players always end up getting banned on his worlds...

Joe has been always replying to msgs within 24 hours window, i have never seen an instance where he has taken 4 days to reply to a msg..You don't need to bad mouth someone, just for the sake of doing it... Stick to the truth atleast..!!

Just that you haven't experienced it doesn't mean it hasn't happened.. In this thread you can find several examples of people who report that he HAS crossed it.

If he really is on time lately, yes that is good news. Slayer, I see you are defending him, I can't blame you for it. But honestly, if there are quite some people in here that report he has indeed been inactive and late with replying before, you can't simply go and try to deny that. If it's one person maybe, but several have posted now.

Fact is however that speaking from experience, it is not simply that one world where he was inactive and late with replying or taking action. This thread is still attracting new replies, I am sure that over the next few days more people will come forward and say he was inactive indeed.

Quote:
"Not Always" is the keyword here. So, you are saying that he ha not always been on top of 24 hours window..right? But most of the times he is...am i correct?? Coz that's gud enough for me and most of us.. even though, he has always replied withi 24 hours window to me and most of the people i know of...!!

If he has gone outside the 24 hour window several times and it says in the contract that an admin should not go over the 24 hour mark then technically it's a breach of contract, so I don't think you want the argument to go that way.

Thanks to pauses I got time to go through all the messages :P...

With all due respect to Admin Joe.

Yes I too had faced similar timing problems with him earlier...Even starting worlds without a havoc... messed up all our plans... happened a year ago though... Then there was a instance on F3 or F6 (custom server - 3 players 3 ticks/hour) where my friends (who boosted decently) faced a big problem quite a few multi alliances suicided on them ... and the situation took 2-3 days to solve resulted them in losing the war and the era... they were compensated with 500 blues...
Now here are 2 points included: 1) he doesn't favor anybody 2) He was very inactive.

All this happened a year back...

about 6-7 months back he still had activity problem on Galaxy 2 had the era lengthened by quite a few ticks two eras consecutively because he wasn't there... havocs too faced similar problem... once it was more than 150 or so ... I mean more than a day... he wasn't there... if I am not wrong some other admin intervened then...

1 thing is true quite a few of my friends to hated to go to Joe's worlds for his activity problems...

Now, in his favor... lately he did seem active...

Still if he is one of the lesser active admins as Admins Seth and Ilona agreed... then he shouldn't be administering faster worlds of 3 ticks and 4 ticks per hour which he does the most - M3, F3, E5, G2... those should change hands to more active admins... Tactically speaking logging twice a day in a world of 72-96 ticks per day is a lot of time if you face some problem or cheater to get away with his job... because he is giving them 36-48 ticks time in between his checking time... so even if he takes action it will be too late already...

The fact is, everybody will agree the most cheating complains on this forum are from his worlds... ever wondered why? there goes the proof of his activity problem...

But I don't see the point of all this discussion there is a evaluation system in the game where you can rate admins why don't use it more effectively to get ratings from all the players...

Also very few players (mostly those who quit) come to the forums to discuss on things other than directly related to the game they are playing... so you can never have a proper evaluation here... and there are many who don't know how to take screen shots or even give the co-ordinates or report properly but only to shout helplessly in the broadcasts...

Sometimes you got to accept the circumstantial evidences... don't you do the same Admin Seth when you ban players directly who are being farms in your worlds. Those are very much circumstantial because you can never claim any player being a farm or not as a player got every right to do nothing and just watch the happenings of a world if he wishes to as some people are generally interested in watching a good battle or his friends getting some success. Anyways that's not a point of discussion here so I won't debate over it but you got to take circumstantial evidences into consideration too...

Lastly I don't think having no time for administering BD for another job isn't a good enough excuse under any circumstances... Even if this is a part time job its still a job and requires time for proper execution of it and it should be done accordingly...

PS: I too respect Admin Joe as I do anyone else be it a Admin or a fellow player... I like him too for his very friendliness too... And it is very much appreciated if he checks before accepting any claims... Yes replacing him isn't the only option here... there are several other things to do before that... like sharing his worlds with someone else for time being or shuffling the worlds... and may materialize the suggestion made sometime ago about secondary admins or something like that...

I am not here to judge anyone but just felt like to speak my experiences and my mind... Please pardon me if I was too aggressive...

I'd like to end this debate now (without locking it)

We can surely continue here, but I don't know how far this will bring us and whats the goal of it.
We have some thousand active players every day and if you would ask every one of them about my failures we'll find a lot.
Examples from me:
- i've banned the player who reported a very bad message instead of the writer
- I've managed it to post the end of the era in bc 3 times wrong within 48h

Things like this happens and will happen in future....

Still, I'd like to thank all who participated in this thread. We'll continue to do our best and we'll keep all this posts in mind when we do changes for example in tick speeds.
>So instead of 'discussion of AN admin' I'd rather like to have a generally discussion in this or any other thread whenever you as community see an urgent need.
As I said, I won't lock this. Every opinion is worth to get heard. But also, I'll keep an eye of this thread. Saying admin xyz was late at era xy and this is 2 years ago, is truly nothing what will help you or us to improve our service.
So please be fair and productive ....

- Ilona

Right.

There really is not much left to be said here that has not been already. What is more, it stands to question exactly what end this will result in.

I do not think we will be replacing Admin Joe any time soon, save a severe shortcoming on his part. Right now, there simply is not. Perhaps, if nothing else, this will inspire Joe to be a little more active, and to strive to be more productive with community and public relations.

Milan, you have made your point. If you really have no vendetta against admin Joe, then it stands to reason that you should have no problem with letting him alone now that you have made your stance known. If for not other reason, then out of respect for Joe, myself, Ilona and the other admins.

I won't lock the thread either. I am a firm believer in freedom of speech (within the boundaries of not being insulting of course), so obviously, I let it ride from the beginning. The thread will continue to ride as long as everyone is respectful to eachother and to administration.

For future reference, If you have concerns about an administrator's performance, decisions or ability to do their job, I will be happy to hear you out.. Simply PM me or let a moderator know that you have an administrative issue that needs addressed, and we will see about arranging a virtual meeting to get your concerns heard and addressed.

Thanks to all who participated here, as I am very suprised with how civil this all managed to stay. I admit, I was very concerned that this would turn into a troll-fest. In that respect, I have eaten my foot.

Does joe even get payed for this task of taking time from hes daily schedule? If not, then stop complaining, he is very kind admin for a very low profit, unles the pay is good, either way hes not the worst, he has to be one of the best in online games. Im pretty sure battledawn wouldnt hire an unfit admin.
No admin is in anyway the most time sychonized with their schedules, but come on, its not like their hate mongers, they evetually get to your mail and arent terrible people.
-Nightsnare coming back soon btw.
