Aside from actually disabling you from attacking new players, no, it will not stop it. It will to some degree discourage it. The real benefit to this is that it will keep things more competetive.

So, yes, you are free to be mean to whomever you wish. You simply wouldnt get a great score benefit from it.

What do you mean "be mean to"? The game is about conquering people, if a newb makes a colony and builds 3 infantry and then just sits there until their protection runs out, then of course theyre going to be conquered. They've most likely already quit the game and thats why they only have 3 infantry sitting there. If we're talking about the (very few) people each era who join the game and actually keep playing, well, those are the people who are more likely to keep playing them game even if theyre conquered anyways because they have already decided that they like it.

That's really the big separation here...new players have 100 ticks of protection, and 99% of them quit the game way before that protection ends. There are hundreds of these people in every single era, and theyre the main source of food for the top alliances. When yo ugo to the number 1 alliance and check player stats, the reason we all have 50-150 conquers is because we've killed all these noobs who have already quit the game and will never sign on again.

These people also get deleted after a week of not playing, so they're a limited resource for us and we lose all that extra income (and power) before the endgame comes along.

The people who DONT quit the game in the first two days are usually people who already have friends who are playing, or who got scooped up by an alliance somehow and have someone teaching them how to play. These people are very unlikely to quit the game when they're conquered, because there is a person there telling them how to deal with it.

As far as discouraging the attacking of new players...this new rule will not do that even in the slightest bit. You need to think about the math on this one...if I manage to conquer 65 of the noobs on the map (99% of whom have already quit before protection ended), that's about 275 metal per tick income for me for the next week until these colonies are deleted, and it's also 130 workers per day, and it's also a 65 power boost to my score. So what if I don't get a score boost from killing whatever army they have? I didn't get one before the update, and I won't get one after the update...all we're doing here is keeping the status quo.

And the gap between pros and noobs will now be even greater. Where before I might have a 1000-3000 score gap on someone, now that gap will just be monstrous! Think about it this way...these noob players are all joining noob alliances. The noob alliances usually don't get into too many wars, they stay out of the way, become subs, or get conquered and watch the rest of the game.

The Pro players are the ones who kill armies of 100-400 squads each. We're the people who always have 8000-15000 kills every era, and we're the ones who benefit from this new rule. If I am already in the top 10 players and I've got 70 conquers, 40 squads, and 80 crystals...how much more huge is my score going to be if I've killed 8,000 enemy units in the era?

Perhaps you are right, perhaps not. There is only one way to really know for sure, and it is not speculating in a thread.

Don't get me wrong, I did not code this update myself. I am merely here trying my best to be informative about it, and let you know what our intentions are with the update.

This is one of those updates where we know what we are going for, but outside of speculating, the only real way to see what happens with it, is to put it in the game.

If it does not work as we intended, then we remove it.

i dont see anyway this balances anything out, at all. it took like 2-3 days of voting from those sites to buy 1 boost and supporters do like every boost every day, the daily resources arent gonna help, whatevers available to non supporters is also available to supporters

the score update is just flat out (Want to be allies? Sometimes I like to pretend I am a princess riding a pony..) and i can see the obvious flaw of killing someone and them still having 4000 score but nothing else

only good update is the flying pumpkins :p

2. Voting will give slightly less tokens. This is due to large scale abuse and imbalances of this feature.
7. If you purchase a 1000 token (or higher) boost, you will get a 200 bonus (blue) token booster! This is a new feature, so we will be working to make it more dynamic in the future, but for now, any boost of 1000 or more red tokens will include 200 bonus tokens. Just to be clear, if you purchase 3000 supporter tokens, you will still get 200 bonus tokens (same as a 1000 token purchase).

subtle. i wonder if anyone will get my drift.

It is not obvious to you how it balances out because you have not seen the full scope of the abuse like we have. For the average player, it might not seem like much, but for the likes of Neljems, it will be a bit more difficult to 'abuse the system'. If you want to blame someone for this, blame some of those (I am certain you know at least one) who has abused the tokens system for so long. We simply cannot stand by and do nothing.

Also, the tokens from voting are not only available to non supporters, so...

Quote:
whatevers available to non supporters is also available to supporters

^ that is true either way. It did not suddenly change now that its resources instead of tokens. If it did take as long as you say to get enough for one boost, then chances are in terms of resources, you will be making out better with the new daily boost than you did with the old method of voting. And just to be clear, we didnt remove the tokens from voting, we just reduced them a bit, so you are still getting both. You should really lay off the coffee. ;)

As for the score tweak, as I said, speculation is not application. None of us are psychic.

See? there is no benefit to average players and little benefit to noobs, only boosters benefit :/

Also damn straight flying pumpkins FTW!

Incorrect. There is benefit to ALL players. The scoring is something that none of us can predict with 100% accuracy...unless you can give me the winning lotto picks for my state next week!

This aint fair for us NON RED BOOSTERS. What about us poor people? Dont you care for us BD? I mean taking out more blue tokens from our votes.. This game aint fair now.

RICH are taking over I guess..

If its gonna be like this then me and my friends would rather quit this game then..

Your just seprating RED boosters from NON.

no it isnt the rich and poor its boosters and non boosters

not everyone that has money and playing BD is boosting they choose not to spend money on games like BD their choice like me i can get tokens but choose not to my choice but people who dont have enough money to get tokens then they're forced not to get tokens so its not between rich and poor its between people who choose to boost and people who dont

Wouldn't the battle scoring update encourage weak players to suicide their armies into the stromg players all thru the era?

I'm starting to become a bit disappointed, this is turning into one of those shallow facebook games where non boosters have no way of winning and boosters have huge advantages against them.
