Go to community, alliances and then enter their tag. Or ask around. Or try to find broadcasts mentioning them.

Join any alliances.. which has 10 members..... pick up some skilled persons from them and then backstab the leader and make a new alliances with them in next era and then fill remaining positions as the leader.....

NOW U GET A GOOD ALLIANCES..........

Start building up as soon as you start, and conquering. The higher the level you are the more likely you are to be accepted into an alliance.

Keep in mind the large majority of winning alliances are pre arranged before the era starts.
