War has 2 aspects to it - the political aspect and the military aspect. Militarily the United States did not lose in Vietnam. Politically they did. They failed to curb communism there, which is why they went in, in the first place.

Secondly, all this analysis about existing border issues dont matter. Yes India and China share a border, and there are issues, but since the 1988 day long skirmish between India and China, there havent been any attacks. India and China are on a path to progress, they will never fight.

Border issues wont really cause World wars. A border skirmish can always be resolved. Am just saying these conflicts wont have any real effect on anything.

BTW what did people say about Germany before Hitler came to power? You have to understand why he came to power, the social, political and economic turmoil Germany was going through at that time to actually come to a conclusion about the real reasons for WW2.
