I knew someone would say that the woman may not want to go through pregnancy. I'm not saying it is easy to go through pregnancy but nine months of pain is worth a human life. It's kind of selfish to kill a helpless human when all you have to do is go through nine months of pain and if you still don't want the baby after it is born you can give it up for adoption.

I hate it when people say they "accidently" got pregnant. How can you not know what you are doing? 1.) If you really want to do it than wear protection. 2.) Protection doesn't always work and if your risking it that is fine but don't say it was an accident. It is like gambiling and when you lose don't say it wasn't your fault. I realize rape is different though.

Let's say abortion is perfectly legal and non controversial. Oops, I wasn't wearing a condom, or oops, I wasn't on birth control, and bam. Pregnancy. All abortion would encourage is promiscuity and irresponsibility, because you don't have to give a damn. Just kill the embryo. So by making abortion legal, you're increasing the urge to have unprotected sex. What comes with so much unprotected sex? STD's.


Now you could argue that there's already alternatives to abortion, like giving the baby up for adoption, or even giving it to a friend or relative, and in turn that would mean that people should already be out of control and irresponsible, but with those alternatives you have to carry the pregnancy to full term, go through the pain of giving birth, and then have to deal with the emotional stress of giving away your own baby. With abortion it's one move and it's over.
