I heard that they made the change where damage units are basically better than range now since they were useless. Is this true or not? And what is the difference since now range is useless. What is the ideal build now? for mechs? It used to be 7 range 3 armor now what is it?

You get a bunch of range with the 7:3 ratio and insta kill your opponent in one round... Thats the new build...

But I thought damage was better than range now.

damage is only better in a ratio of 1:1 (in others words you have an equal amount of units) most people use the 7:3 range build because they try to get 3 times as many units and win the battle in one round

why everybody too in love with range? just because they used to it, doesnt mean range are better, stop doing empty-argue without any prove, i made a test on battle simmulator u can check it yourself!! i do it with FULL HP condition

theres 4 types discussed on forum

1. 10/0/20
2. 10/20/0
3. 10/10/10
4. 5/10/15

10/0/20 vs 10/20/0 = 10 armor 20 dmg win!! thats not all they cost CHEAPER than 10 armor 20 range, so u win n u cost less than your enemies, it mean efficiency thats a VERY good thing here in battle dawn

im too lazy to show all the result, but the conclusion is

type 2 can defeat types 1 and 3 but lose by type 4

type 3 defeat type 1 and 4 but lose from type 2

type 4 defeat type 2 and 3 but lose from type 1

type 1 defeat ONLY type 4 but it lose from type 2 and 3

as u can see type 1 only can defeat 1 type and cost VERY expensive, while type 2 are cheaper.... so i still dont get it why peoples LOVE 10 armor and 20 range while they never test it at all

um... their arguments arent empty.... they use range because they dont fight in fair fights 1:1. they only fight with enough range to win in 1 turn to the damage units dont do anything at all

Why are you gonna be that stupid to fight someone with the same amount of units. This is why noobs think dmg is good. Obviously you can't get past rank 100 because you dont know that if you build alot of range and fight people 2/3 army less than you you will win with only losing armor.

becouse it is a test ... if u talking about 100 units vs 50 units u dont have to calculate anything at all, but wait what if the 100 units get nuke and only 1 hp left? but wait... what if the 100 units get spied 1st? what if ... the 50 units get aid from his ally mate? what if all 50 units lvl`d up and all have +1 range ? theres many ways to win !! if we talks about all those kind of strategy than we are on end-less topic.

this is for the equal power TEST , normal damage, normal HP, just to see clearly what will happen if u fight with the same power, whats the best build to win? in this tight battle any single different change will make u win or lose, thats what we talking about, of course in reality ull use spies, nukes, friends anything to make u a 100% win without losing anything, but thats not what we talking about atm

ok, so from now I'll use 20 damage : 10 armor build. And before I send my squads I'll tell the enemy "Hey I have 90 concussive inf, u leave 90 concussive inf there too".

No, u scan and always try to have an overwhelming forces against ur enemy. If ur enemy has 1 squads, u have 3, enemy has 5, u have 10, enemy has 50 u have 80. That's how u should do.
