This thread is not intended to hurt anyones feelings and racism will not be tolerated, as always.

I'm straight. No, I don't give a damn if you're gay, bis, trans, asexual, pansexual, whatever. I'm with Alex, though. Don't throw it in my face. I don't run around and beg for straight pride parades. I have many friends who are gay, and they're my friends because they're not running around flaunting it. People who throw it in my face that they're gay, bi, whatever, just piss me off. It's the same way as racism.

Why does it matter what we identify with? Talks like this only further seperate the gap between people. We wouldn't identify races or sexual orientation if people just stopped talking about, and stopped caring about it. There is no difference between a black guy and a white guy. Or a gay guy and a strait guy. Not one lick.

I'd like to quote a book I'm reading for my speech class:

"...Unless you live in a culture that recognizes such differences as significant, they are socially irrelevant and therefore, in a way, do not exist. a "black woman" in Africa, therefore, who has not experienced white racism, does not think of herself as black. African, yes. A women, yes. But not a black woman."

The same goes for sexuality. If we do not place any significance on what sexuality one prefers, then those sterotypes and bigoted statements would no longer exist.
