PS3! using the online mode is free vs 360 $60 a year for online.

PS3 has more main titles.

PS3 has more features.

no constant battery replacement for controllers.

they don't break as easy :P

it all kinda depends on age anyway. 360 has better games for 12 and under imo.

But how bout this.......... Get him the ps3 now and get the little kid games that the ps3 has and when he gets older u don't have to buy a new system. Just let him get more and more violent games :) or if u don't want that don't do that. But frankly ur the parent follow ur gut instinct.
