hmm thats a good idea cause the relic is kinda like a fortress so the people in it should have defense bonus. Though the only problem is that it would be hard to calculate

I've been trying for eras to find an applicable usage of relics in a real war.

The issue is they're basically flying nuke magnets. Even a nobody with a single silo will fire at you in the vain hope of taking the relic. Perhaps they should come equipped with a automatically charging shield? Say it takes a full day to charge and lasts 3 - 6 ticks. (it gains a tick every 8 hours to a max of 6) instead of a bonus for defense it would give you time to scramble fighters to it.

A portal on a relic would certainly give it more of an attacking purpose, but I still doubt it'd be used for anything other than to defend it if it was attacked.

In short as long as it can be targeted by a nuke from anyone, at anytime, anywhere, and it's as valuable as it is... They won't be doing much of anything.


UNLESS...

They gave you a distinct edge when ATTACKING directly from a relic.... Perhaps you can attack 1.5 times faster. (A 6 tick ETA would be hit in 4 ticks) Or an actual edge in battle itself. (but as goldenpaw said tough to calculate)

If they could come up with a way for relics to help in the attacking section of the game, then they'd be used. Because that boost could be the determining factor in battle. And chaos would ensue. Imagine a era where the relics were captured and flying all around attacking defending, changing hands... It'd be awesome.
