Well see I'll be a J. Mod soon if Seth accepts Gene's approval.

Here's my two cents

In the old BD, some subs were good, I mean, I started off in a sub, and lets face it, without subs many people would quit, because they would belong to some really bad alliance or no alliance at all. At least as a sub member, you had some say. However, going overboard does take the cake. Having more than even one sub may be considered going overboard. That's when we get into the meat shields and propaganda. However, for me, subs were the ideal way to teach new players while not dragging down the main alliance.

HOWEVER, in the new version of BD, alliances are bigger, which can cause more and less sub abuse. However, with the new mentoring program that is more active than the old one (at least through my eyes) I can see how subs now are a thing of the past. But, just for everyone to make sure. Subs weren't always THAT bad. Perhpas they got a bad rap, and I can see why. But I know I would have never been the player I am now, and would have definitely not continued my BD experience if subs were banned. To me, subs were the key to understanding gameplay, and meeting players ... other than the guy who conquers you.

first two alliances were subs, first one not the best and we got slaughtered with the main alliance.

second were GREAT, it's where i started getting conections and coming into the comunity, i would seriusly not be half the player i am today with those people teaching me the game! (was in LoW1, low had a bit to many subs, but LoW1 was the highest ranked alliance without a relic and we got that through fighting for it, the main took our best players but we kept on fighting, it wassen't like any other sub i've been in)

and to the mentoring program:
i didn't even there was a adopt a newb center in old bd, now like evry forth post got the pic with a link! :)
on e2 i made a colony to start NEWB alliance there and is helping people, and plan to make a abit more serius NEWB alliance when next world restart with 5 other mentors and hopefully 18 newbs ;)

and the 24 people make you able to take in newbs, i know ALOT of people who take new players into their alliance and train them and they do well!
