How do the population increases work in the game. What is Worker upkeep? How do the buildings (Farms etc) affect the process?

I can't find any specifics anywhere... and trying to stream line and calculate ahead even in a rough manner is impossible without a rudimentary understanding of the underlying function.

Jk - you ever thought of applying for a mentor?

I briefly scanned the NEWB mentor thread but thought I had a pretty good grasp on how things worked at the time. It's only in retrospect that I realize how much more there was to know, and how it might have been a good idea.

Do I really need a master though? I feel I would make a pretty poor padawan, already being the leader of my own alliance and whatnot

Plus, all of you have been amazingly helpful so far. Even Kevin has passed on some invaluable tips.

I appreciate all the help I can get though. Always interested in improving if you really think it will help me improve past the basics.
