In regards to the ways of catching cheaters, did you finally start looking at MAC addresses? Gotta love those... Specific to every single device you have that connects to the internet.

If you are running linux you can spoof your mac address and since OS X is BSD based im sure its easy to do on a MAC as well. Who knows about Windows, but im sure its possible as well.
