Say they have 20 tanks and you have 15-30 vechicles or 20 tanks yourself and your attacking.

A complete tossup battle quickly turns into one you shall surely win.

Or with 2 ion's 10 tanks, can kill 20.

Normally it is much cheaper to just use more units.

However especially now with allies unable to hit targets at the same time without fighting a battle for spoils, ion'ing to help an ally, or even befriending your conquers, you could get them to help you out with no expense to yourself.

Word it how you wish, or just let people read my post but those may be strategies you'd like to include.

Ion Cannons can be very important for things other than actual battles. Sometimes taking an OP is very important, and you don't want to fight for it... drop a few ions on it and the defense will lose the will to fight, and leave.

Other times keeping OPs alive is very important, maybe you have a bunch of squads to send to an OP but they aren't able to be sent for 2 ticks, and there is an enemy spam squad 2 ticks from the OP you want to send too. Drop an Ion on the spam squad and you get to keep together your speed/oil boost.

It's more than just for actual fighting and blowing up nukes. It's a tool with many applications.

The ion cannon is extremely helpful for small battles.

Lets say, hypothetically, both the offence (which we will call Omega) and defence (called Delta.) have two squads, both with 2 defence tanks in them. Delta fires an ion cannon, so one squad from Omega moves back. (For the sake of arguement, no squad gets 1 hp.) So the 2 Omega squads are seperated, and the first one attacks. The battle goes Omega:2 tanks vs. Delta: 4 tanks. Delta survives with all 4 tanks, ready to take on another Omega squad, at which point Delta will keep all four tanks, or just lose one tank.

PS. There is probably some faults in my theory but most of it holds true.
