The width of the western ocean must be reduced. PRAE was a perfect example of how an inactive cowardly alliance can make everyone lose 300-400 ticks just because of the way the map is built.
It could have been worse...in a different configuration they may have even won the round with a pathetic move like this.
Relics must be reachable at all times from land, otherwise people get an unfair advantage. The way the faulty BD mechanics work, you can simply get people to put units on the relic, kick them, add other people to the alliance, kick them again, until you will have 20-30 different armies sitting on one relic and all defending it at the same time.
On Kong we actually have the rule (or had, ask Tom) that you can not move your relics out of reach of land for longer than 100 ticks.. Or something to that effect.
Edit: Just spoke to Tom, he said:
[16:49:55] Milan: What was the rule on relics in the sea on Kong again?
[16:49:58] Milan: As in out of reach
[16:50:31] Tom Routh: don't do it
[16:50:36] Tom Routh: or I'll teleport them to land
[16:50:42] Milan: Not even to take the wrecks there
[16:50:44] Milan: ?
[16:50:52] Tom Routh: nah
[16:50:56] Tom Routh: if there's a buildup of wrecks
[16:50:59] Tom Routh: I'll teleport them
