The problem is when you're outnumbered a little margin isn't good enough. Your enemies rebuild faster than you, outnumber you and probably are active at more times of the day than you. Winning by a bit isn't enough. Every battle needs to be a complete wipeout so you can keep up with their unit count.

It appears that this circle is becoming vicious :D

There really does not seem to be any disagreement here, just a lot of talking through each other.

I think you both make valid cases. In the event of a massive show down between two alliances then damage has it. In the normal running of the game range wins every time.

Because big show downs are rare, and overwhelming the weak is commonplace, I will personally stick with range.

The resource case is valid, but I am still not sure that it offsets the first strike nature of 2:1 range.

I like this guy. Partly because of his avatar :D


I respect the decision to use the pro build but I just find it an absolute pity that the devs took the time to increase the damage of damage units and still nobody's using them.
