It has come to my attention that the once powerful community asset used when I was here is now nonexistent. It is this: No votes require a reason. Not enough reasons to match votes="deleted" no votes.

And now, if i understand the new system, it takes 16 yes votes, when there is a single no vote, doesnt have to be explained at all. A simple person from not of this game can come on, vote no, and hinder community decisions without a reason.

Now, what i want to know is how come this has changed? This very suggestion was accepted a year ago, and used by the community for as long as i was here. Why is it not used anymore? What happened?

It was always been a fact accepted by all that when you're in the suggestions forum, you contribute to the community. When you vote you give a reason, and not just that, dare I say we went beyond simply stating a reason, we went as far as defending that reason, with a passion.

That old community flame is gone, and i see topics not even a page long accepted. What happened to the old debaters we had in the suggestions? Those who defended their opinion, and didnt just vote what everyone else was.

Ok, im probably getting off track, ill get down to it, my suggestion:

No votes without a valid reason are disregarded completely. If you have an opinion defend it with a passion, dont be afraid to say what you believe. If you're not willing to give a reason to you're no vote then move on.

EDIT: Removing tweak option. Tweaks do not relate to the suggestion whatsoever. This is about validating no votes, not yes votes.

Again, this is not a valid tweak, they arn't even related topics! This is no votes with reasons, you want voting to be disabled before a post. Make another topic and put that idea in there, and vote based on this idea. Which was already accepted but taken away from certain mods because they didnt like it, and went against the community and removed it anyway.

So No votes don't count without a reason? Sure, but like I said on a similar thread, if you have to justify No votes, then you also have to justify Yes votes, seeing as both have equal gravity. Withholding vote.

This isnt for yes votes. The reason no votes should have a reason, is because you're going against the topic at hand. If you're going against it, you should have to state whats wrong with it, and possibly any fixes, or if you flat out dislike it, state why.

When you vote yes you agree with the topic, therefore there is no need to justify a yes vote, because you agree with it, so it should not be mandatory to post what you're voting. You could, but it shouldnt be monitored.

well you must have a reason to like the suggestion as the same for not likeing the suggestion, there for you will have to be forced to say why you like or dislike the suggestion. but eather way i done like haveing to be forced to say something so, vote no
