im a newb, and am totally confounded by control ticks??? they just sort of started and are getting quite numerous? good / bad? should i be prepared for something?

Now to try to help....

All control ticks are the amount of ticks that you've had control over that op. Many buildings that you make require for a certain amount of control ticks to be over them before you can build it on an op. Control ticks play a major part in the strategy of the game. I suggest to read around the forums and look at the strategy guides that are offered there.

- Colonies / Castles is ... 72 Ticks
- Outposts is ... 24 Ticks
