ok 2 out of the 17 people i have heard from (myself included) have chat that isn't working.
i have now cleared cache in explorer and Chrome, time to download firefox it seems.
hopefully that works :)

It appears that firefox won't do the trick either right now. Wait one or two days and see if they can fix it :)

admins, the problem is clearly in the coding
it is a combination of verifying email with the new updates
something between the two resulted in people not being able to use chat
