From what I have heard GML has never lost before, and they seem a formidable force this E6.. So yes, this should be an awesome war to watch, and probably not a short one like the CBop one.
It's not just that they never lost, it's that GML has never had a round where they actually came close to losing, other then the round against ARM. Most enemies, including some of the best in the game back then, just got steamrolled without making a shot. It's been more of a question of "can you hold them" in the past, then "can you beat them".
A lot of the older vets wouldn't attempt to fight the old GML under any circumstances, but this isn't the old GML. Had, say, Elphaba of Shiz (Renee) who died already been active, that would have made them significantly better. She is, by far, one of the best players the game has to offer.
I also kind of hoped they would be able to pull Creel in. He's been in GML and ARM, so I am kind of surprised he isn't there.
They've managed to merge with ARM, which boosted their power back up a lot, but they're still not the team they used to be. They'd need time for that, time they don't have. Time to get their coordination tried and tested, weed out anyone who isn't up to par, perfect their subs back up to that point where they can move as single players.
Nevertheless they're a significant challenge to anyone who fights them and regaining some strength every tick. Time is their advantage, give them long enough and it's going to be quite the pickle.
And mfreak, there used to be a time that breaking pacts could cost you more then it could win you, the community was quite close and didn't take to kindly to members being screwed over. But the game got bigger and less personal since then.
