Surely someone can describe what determines "UPKEEP" - in simple words - or point me to where this is described.

Only answer if you are sure you are right. Thanks.

The Upkeep is for your workers only. So you grow slower as you get more workers. There is no maintenance for units or outposts.

alright, but how many workers = -1 upkeep? My guess would be 50 population = -1 upkeep(and i mean population, not workers)

Ok - so upkeep is for workers only - got it (Are you sure it doesn't include the people in outposts/total population?)

Now the next question would be just what Vincent asked. . .

What is the ratio of workers to -1 upkeep?

Like i said my guess is 50 POPULATION(not workers). My guess for this is becuz i have 340 workers, and a -7 upkeep, but a 390 population. If it went by workers only, i would have to say its every 45ish workers, but if i go by population, every 50 population makes sense. And personally i think they would go with a even 50 before something like 45

Edit:meh forgot to login as Vincent, there should be a way to change our forum name, so that i dont have to create a new one just for the forum to have the name i want

Correct. 50 POPULATION = -1 upkeep:

1 worker = 1 population
1 outpost = 10 population

Basically at 500 workers you should have -10 upkeep and at 1000 you should have -20. It is a similar system to slow down worker growth as your colony grows larger that was in the old client, not to the extent the old client did but it does slow it down.
