Just signed up and done the tutorial.
Of course I have loads of nerdy questions but find the forum search facility a total joke! Where is there a field to enter the keywords for a search? I have never seen such an unnecessarily complicated search engine in my life! Please guys KISS!! ( keep it simple stupid!).
Please tell me how/if/when I will able to train higher grade units.

Lvl 2 Explosive Weapons Workshop - Allows you to build explosive-tech weaponry
Lvl 3 Damage Upgrade Workshop - Allows you to build damage-type units

If you click "Search" at the top of the page, the very first box is to search by keywords.
