What attracts me to the damage build is the cheapness.

Per resource it is more effective overall.

per squad it is less effective overall.

Your decision.

Yeah, but just remember that the armor/damage method is only good for 1v1, last time i used that method is when i lost all my units on G2 when we fought a battle against DOGS (10v10)

Damage units suck they allways did.

even tho I wont lie I have tried many times to use them with 10,1,4 ratio or 9,2,4 in the past.

damage build is only good for specific situations.

some example for why they suck.
1)if you are facing an aramy which is much stronger then yours you wont be able to hit once.
2)if the enemy units are damaged by a nuke or spy you wont be able to kill them in 1 round which means youi will get hit twice.
moreover you cant kill a army which is much bigger then yours even if they got nuked cause they will just destroy you in the first round.
3) against smaller forces which contain rang you will get hit twice again.

in the end you will invest less resources into building those damage but allot in restoring your armor, even tho a damage build needs less armor then a rang build damage only build will go with 12/3 or 25/5 ratio, you are still gona lose allot of armor for no good reason.

damage build will only win a rang build in huge battles with lots of rounds where both sides have about similar amount of squads, dont forget that damage cost less so I can assume you have more units then the enemy, anyway I am as a alliance leader and even as a player always try to avoid those kind of huge battles unless its absolutely necessary, always try to take your enemy in a disadvantage and thats what rang units are all about

just my 2 cent.

exactly, that's why I said use the normal 2 range:1 armor build all the time, unless u have the big battles with lots of armor involved. In this case, a full damage squad for each 5 normal squads would be better.

You bring up going against larger armies witch i have often used in my argument FOR dmg units. Because a dmg army will have more units than a range army. So sure, squad for squad not as effective, but an army with dmg units will have more squads. No matter what you do a larger range army will win, however you can get passed this faster by adding dmg to make your squads less expensive and still winning the fight. Even if the armies are the same size the dmg army still wins. Range wins only when it has numbers. Dmg units are good for under dog armies who just want to win a quick battle. Range us for long term rank 1 alliances.

^ still their are more reason I wrote why not to use damage, as I sad they arent effective with spys and nukes and how would an "underdog" army win without those ?

you can add 1 damage to each vech squad instead of a rang unit it may help you in some specific situation but most of the time it will make you lose alittle bit more armor units which in the end stack up for allot of armor units.

You missed what i said...Its faster and cheaper to build a dmg army(4/5/6 or 3/6/6) witch will win 1v1 vs the standerd 4/11 build. However you will take huge loses and isnt something that you should use for long term fights. However it is good if you want to rack up some HUGE exp.

The thing is very simple. During first round, only range units shoot. During 2nd round only range and damage units shoot, yet at this point, if you do the math, range units will have hit harder the enemy.

...but from the 3er round and on, the thing changes, cause no matter how many more rounds the battle lasts, X number of damage units will have hit the enemy harder than X number of range units.

So to sum up, for 1 or 2 round battles, range units work better, but for 3+ round battles damage units are the way to go.

And since no real fight goes for 3 rounds or more, that should just about settle it right there. Not to mention that if a fight does go for 3 rounds, armor has long since been annihilated and there's a good chance you don't have all your damage units BY that third round.

Cheaper? In the short term, yeah. Having more units means having more overhead, so now your units will cost even more just because you wanted a "cheaper" army. And as has been said, if you are the victim of a nuke/spy attack, you're going to get wiped out in 1 round, so ALL those damage units are worthless and just feeding lots of experience to the enemy.

There's also the laughable situation where an inexperienced damage army runs into some range 5's... hahahaha. You guys gonna shoot back yet? Gonna shoot back yet? Gonna shoot back yet-awwwww. Sorry, too late.

Or the even more laughable event when an inexperiacned range army runs into a 4 range dmg army and gets wiped without ever fireing back...
