There are no "various formulas" for me. I only use 9/21, 4/11 and 3/7 for each chassis, and so do a lot of other people, so I will base my argument on my "formula", the "probuild".

Which other setup do you mean? I tested your build, 5/25, against the probuild, 9/21 and it was a draw.

I'm starting to not understand what you are saying. Every build is defeatable. Your build is, if anything, easier to beat, and on top of that, more expensive.

Firstly, most people with common sense won't send equal forces to a battle. Ideally, they'll try and win in 1 round with overwhelming force and minimal losses. Secondly, if you had actually deigned to battle simulate, you would see that the probuild and your build draw in an equal fight.

I'm starting to get tired of repeating the same arguments about this kind of thing over and over again. Maybe I should save it in Notepad or a word file or something.

Here is an idea...

Pro build = cost effective for minimal losses when running an overwhelming force. Certain damage build may have the edge in the rare occurrence of an equal battle.

As I understand it attacks generally fall into one of three categories:

Firstly an overwhelming attack where a portion of armour loss is tolerated due to enemy range units in the first round.

Secondly spam attacks which spread out the offensive with low cost squads. This is hard to defend against, and losses are tolerated as the gains made by successful takes often justify this approach.

Thirdly a large scale show down. This is relatively rare, and occurs when things come to a head, or a player's hand is forced and they have nothing to lose. They may just want to inflict as much damage as possible before bowing out. Whatever the reason, it does occur, but not very often.

As I see it most players will operate on a combination of spam and overwhelming attacks. This suggests sticking with a pro build that has a decent number of spam squads available as well.

Why not, then, go pro build. Build damage spam squads (good vs single armour at least) and have the best of both worlds. If a big showdown is on the horizon consolidate your spam into damage squads and work out a ratio for your army.
