When unit cost is concerned I've calculated damage are the best. Since you'll have an 20% - 30% larger army than if you used range.
However since they tend to die more and faster, you have to be insanely good to be able to survive or win a round using damage.
But from a sheer numerical stand point damage beats range.... everytime.
Try it.
Build an army of whatever. Armor and range.10/20
And build an army of Armor and Damage. 5/25.
Remember to add 25% extra damage units to the damage side. Until the RESOURCE COST is the same. (in caps for those who will say the battle should have the same # of squads, in the game you're ONLY limited by resources so the Sim should be limited in the same way. Not some random number you decide upon.)
And have them fight. The only time damage lost was when they all had the worst possible weapons and when the range had the best. and even then they lost by 10% or 3 units.

Good research
I go with the pro build also
But it just so happens that 10/10/10 is stronget build....
Look into it, please correct me if i am wrong....
