I've been playing this game almost for a year (sporadically) and something that I've noticed is the difficulty to socialize with the other players, even when they are added as friends. The only possibility we have, is messaging them by the forum, which is good, though, are just a few players who actually use the forum. An extra interface In-Battle to chat with the other players would be a ground-breaking feature for this awesome game. The whole game would become more interesting, and every battle more personal.
Well, that is my suggestion.
Thanks for your time.

Unfortunately this idea has already been shot down Ilona wrote: at this moment, I would have to say no
I can see that you'd like it, heck even I would, but there is no way. Like Antares said, within 20 seconds it will be smack talking only : I kill you - eat that - now you'll die - etc etc... Supermechs is for every age and I don't want to see a 9 years old learning some new words if you know what I mean. Every chat would need to have a mod in it or at least a 'report' button and with that the need to ban a player for offensive language. The other way would be to add an insane long censored word list. Try to write FIRETRUCK then
No sorry, a chat is at this point not possible Perhaps a friends-only chat would work, but it seem that the developers are cautious of anything that might allow one player to offend another.

Sorry, I did not know that this topic was debated before.
My apologies.

Don't worry about it, it was a while ago anyway, and it's the modmins fault for not having a sticky topic listing previous suggestions.
And who knows, maybe someone may have come up with a new idea since the last topic.
And what many people seem to do, is chat using a dedicated chat/messaging program (which can do far more than supersmechs chat could do) such as MSN/WLM/Skype, AIM, YIP etc.

If anyone is interested, I have started a Skype chat group for Supermechs players, in an attempt to give players another dimension of sociability. ( see this topic). (and sorry for the necro, and double post, but it is relevant to this topic, and not everyone goes to the other forum section)
