I DON'T LIKE IT.. WHATS the point of this update?

all right it means you say good bye for the players who win with talent.

and say Hi to premium account users and just Lucky buddies.use 25 res kits.

before last week 3rd
last week 1st
up to now this week i have most wins
and i wont play with these conditions ..

enjoy 25 kitters
and the ones who have time to fight with 42 resistant players..
lol

nothing wrong with kits. not using them is like not using legs on your mech and calling others newbs because they use legs. if you use kits just like the other people and still use your talent then you will win.

i think its funny when people use kits against me and spend 5000 sm to lose a fight that they only win 500 for.

I like the fact that they brought kits back. they are crazy expensive and limited to 2. should be interesting.

I don't care much, but it's a pretty dumb change.

High resistance is just boring, and now people are limited to 1 resistance kit, so they usually put +25 physical and....thats their entire strategy.

I don't blame them though. The devs really screwed the pooch with their implementation of physical mythical weapons which are massively overpowered.

I know the devs are trying their best, but the progression of this game has been really hit-or-miss with some good changes and some truly awful ones.

Dude lets face it, you win by kitting (Repair and bullet) and teleporting with your back against a wall, plain and simple. Now that everyone can have kits for free (No weight) you're shotgun reliant peice you call a mech is rendered unless. Have fun attempting to win with mythicals WAIT maybe your brain might start to function properly and you might just might make a mech that can win with ACTUAL SKILL

see the difference
last week a bullet kit is 8 kg 25 res kit is 64 kg

i use a bullet kit anyway cuz i'm physical...

so now bullet kit and res kit are same weight

if +25 res kit is 0 bullet kit should be - 20 kg weight at least.. that's funney

The fact that you're speakine as if it's normal for everyone to do this might be pointing to how many people use physical mechs, which would come from the fact that it have been overpowered.

It's been a long time since I've worked on balancing the items for SM, but one thing I amed for were something called "perfect imabalance".

The basic concept is that you don't wan the perfect balance, because then it's possible to make the perfect strategy, or at least come pretty close to it. Combinging that with SM would lead it to be more a game of luck than anything else (that is, if everyone made the same mech).

You need some things that are overpowered in some situations, and some things that are overpowered in others. physical can be said to be overpowered trough doing way more damage than most other weapons, and often dealing damage to resistance as well when shooting. The downside being the bullet cost (and back in the days used to be range, but that has changed). Now you can say there have been added a second one with the resistance. But to explain how that is somewhat fair, we'll have to see why it's happening.

For it to be a viable strategy to rely on, there have to be A LOT of physical mechs compared to other mechs. And the truth is, there is. If you play in the top ranks, there is a lot. 5 out of the last 10 I've played have been physical (that's of course not a viable statistic, but an interesting note). Some mechs will certainsly lose to other types of mechs unless there is a large amount of luck. I bet we've all been in battles where we imadiatly see that this won't end well. If not, your mech is most likely overpowered.

What this update does is make people have to change up their tactics, which is good. SM is a game not only about strategy on the battlefield, but also in the workshop before the battle starts. People either adapt their physical build to the new reality, or they switch away from it. If enough people switch away from it, then there is no need to bring a physical reistance kit, you only got 2 slots, they have to be used well.

When all that is said, I'm guessing this is more a transgressional period mroe than anything else. Personally I've wasted a lot of kits simply because I had them laying around from what I got in boxes.

This update was to make people use the kits. It used to be a rare event, let's see if it stays that way or changes. Either way, it does force people to addapt to win, which is good.

This is a great reply, thank you simmen.

And i agree with War, Glad is upset because she used kits on everyone and now they use them back and she is losing more fights. If you switch your build to heat/energy then you dont have to worry about all the people with physical kits.

Why isnt it fair that he used one kit? Is that a problem? Your build your using in that battle holds two kits, quit your whining you big baby :D
