I see a lot of selfishness in SM multiplayer, what with all the refreshing and glitching and playing with two accounts and whatnot.

In the spirit of good will, I propose that more experienced players share their tips and tricks for SM. Personally I'd love to hear from Mike5Mike, but there are some awesome players here that I know could contribute in more detail than me.

I will share a few pointers from tonight's match:

Image

So far it's 3:0 for the Deflowerer, yet the Mexican Destructor is higher in level, HP and resistancies. So, what got me through?

One, MD is low in energy yet a lot of his weapons require it.

Two, he is reluctant to activate his drone in the begining.

Three, the only thing I've got going for me here is the two swords and the fact that I don't use an energy shield which MD would easily drain. His is a powerful build, and he's a smart player (in that he does not make mistakes nor miss moves). On the other hand, the Deflowerer mech is balanced towards heat and melee.

In his Book of 5 Rings, Miyamoto Musashi writes of the advantages when a samurai is fighting with two swords. As is to my knowledge, he had adopted this style in his 30s, after that, he took to fighting with wooden katanas (bokens) to give his oponents a sporting chance. No one ever beat Musashi, and I have been beaten 500 times, yet I draw from his teaching, aspiring to emulate the spirit of the immovable heart.

Build, fight and prevail my friends!!1

Great idea Deflowerer.

But could you explain two swords to me a little?
It would appear that you should never be able to hit with two, as the enemy would (or should) always attempt to move away as a last move in his turn, and if you move into close, then you only get one strike.
Is it that you have to over heat him or something? Or is it to get the choice of two different types of attack (say a knock back and a no knockback, or heat base and energy based damage).

Thanks

Besides being able to choose, swords deal high damage and don't hog resources. You also noticed that the enemy will most likely stay a step or 2 away if you dual wield. If he's moving, he's not shooting, which is an advantage. However I think it's not a good tactic to use Niten Ichi Ryu at lower levels.

I see, thanks.

What level does it become effective? 22/23? (or is that considered 'low level')

good couple of games we just had BTW.

so far we're 1:1, gg :D add me on 7567806

I wouldn't put 2 swords on a lucifer or similar level torso, as it seems that the midrange is more important at that level - taking into account how meny steps can you take and the fact that you have 1 rush, 1 teleport & 1 hook.

of course I haven't tried it, it just seems logical

Lucifer torso
deadly , avid noob hunter
but so few modules

First off, from HERE you can see all my current builds.

The tactics i'd be sharing today is my Black Mamba's (lvl33) tactics.

Like seen from the pic, i have 5 weapons.
100 Sword is for those who love to come close. Better back up some.
At mid-range, you'll taste my Red Rein and Double Red Watch Guard. Time to keep your mech cool if you don't like heat lockdown.
And if you think you're safe when you're at the other end of the arena? Think again since then you'll see that my Artilery 1 and Sniper Rifle are still reaching at you.

So, you can run but you can't hide. ;)
And that's my tactics, i'm able to hit you wherever you are. :D

雖然我等級只有75,沒什麼資格分享,但是沒有分享實在說不過去
所以我只給一個建議

如果你沒有持有能量的武器
記得
將其中一個武器塗成藍色
而且最好稍微遮住

Although I rank only 75, no qualifications to share, but did not share inexcusable
So I just give a suggestion

If you do not hold the energy weapons
Remember
Which will be a weapon painted blue
And preferably slightly obscured

I love close combats - almost always you will see me havind two swords.

Basically, I do one of three (or more of them combined):

- get close to the opponent (with hook for heat-sensitive or with teleport for energy-sensitive players) and deliver pain with either Dismantler (if the opponent has close range weapons, to send it far) or 100 Swords (for those weak in close range)
- minimize damage taken in high range with shield, cooldown or kits, preparing for close range combats)
- do EVERYTHING possible to drain shields and / or energy

The fourth action is to lose as gratiously and honourable as possible when the tactics above fail :D

Please note that I am a heavy spender (I spend tons on kits): I strongly believe that high-resistance + shield is much more effective than high-hitpoints.

Downsides of this approach - low energy and heat stats :(

If I start first and have 2 action points, I usually try to hit my opponent with my strongest attacks right off the bat. They usually ( not all the time) don't follow up with 2 attacks in a row them self's when it is their turn.

Of course, when I see someone using a resistance kit right when they first start, I usually follow up with one of my own unless I know I can still beat them.

Also, another thing I like doing is getting my Drone out and sitting on the far edge of the map just cooling down. sometimes my opponent will copy me though, but that is usually not an issue because they will try to fight me when they see me just shutting down waiting for them.
I only do this if i am stalling to get a little bit more damage on them than they are doing to me, or if I have more HP than them and want them to approach me.This does not work to well if they have some type of sword though ( if it is stronger anyways).

About my genaral tactics now.

In 95% of the time:
Step 1 - Shield up
Step 2 - Droid out

In those 5% times, if opponent also has either a Red/Blue Lookout or Double Red/Blue Watch Guard and we start at range 5 of eachother then:
Step 1 - Shield up
Step 2 - Fire my Red Lookout or Double Red Watch Guard to push opponent out of the range of their Red/Blue Lookout or Double Red/Blue Watch Guard
Step 3 - Droid out

I also prefer to hit opponent from far away.
