This has already been done in non MMO roleplaying games. Fallout 3 had a radio I enjoyed immensely until it got too repetitive from too few lines and tracks. Played old songs that I wouldn't normally listen to, but simply fit the mood of trekking through a nigh desolate wasteland.
Also, look at the normal radio. Some songs get overplayed, the same add plays over and over again, but we still listen. The point is not that it is good, but that it is part of the atmosphere of the game.
On a side note, "Newbie Bites, How to take a Bite out of a Noob( or "How a Noob can take a Bite out of You") should be a segment no longer than 10 to 15 seconds with droll advice. "When using spies, remember that your opponent may have over 500 spy protection" "Expect an attack from your conquer at any time" "Don't forget spy protection!" etc.
Occasionally, add a bit of obscure advice: "Spies can damage delayed troops still inside their point of origin" "Nukes shot from a longer distance travel faster per tick, giving the opponent less time to react when he first sees it coming."
Whatever you do, DON'T GET FANCY! Keep it basic and simple, changing segments when necessary to break the tedium.

battledawn RC currently got 9 songs =) i haven't checked them out yet, but 3 of them are form Seth, and he usualy do a good job

I would listen to it, when you say things like wars of the week and interviews might it be better to have 1 radio for each world eg, earth1 radio, earth2 radio and so on, its just my thought but yes i would listen to it, be good to see ppl talking about a war your fighting on the radio

you could also make the players come to the forums so they can come to the interviews to vote for their favorite songs and more this increases forum activity since Battle Dawn lacks it as shion said it and shouldn't this be in suggestions instead of miscellaneous. and when is the bd 2 coming out-and what is different about it from this one
