Grumble. Shut it already stomach, I heard you the first time.
The place can only been described with one word: cavernous. The place was huge, but surprisingly spartan; a few decorative bits here and there, but essentially the house was about as decorated as my apartment (pizza on the walls and game packages strewn about like floor tiles excluded). Although I knew it was somewhere between 2 PM and 4 PM, the darkness adorning the halls was oppressive, as heavy, almost opaque curtains drape over every window, and whatever light source there was was muffled by the thick layer of dust on everything. I kept my sword clutched to my side, ready to slash any threat. I felt nothing about offing another guy or whatever-lives-here, must be all the video games.
Bump. Tap. Tap, Tap. Footsteps upstairs. I didn't know if they were the residents, or others with the same predicament as me, or demons hellbent on making a light snack out of my awkwardly-built body. Frankly, I didn't want to know, nor did I care; the grumbling my stomach's making is sure to attract them anyhow.
Finally! The kitchen! After what seemed to me like an eternity of wandering around the halls like a poorly programmed NPC (the 'monsters' to you non-gamer types), I reach what appeared to be the pantry. Still dark as hell in here. Whatever hopeful joy I felt was quickly extinguished when I found all the cupboards, shelves and ovens (yes, I check those) to be empty, save for some frilly, antiquated china and rat droppings. Me, being the fat (and I mean psychologically so) lil' b-ard I am, swore aloud and cursed the cobwebs and the dust lingering in this godforsaken place, their resounding indifference to my petty predicament fueling my frustration more.
I traced the source of the sound I was hearing back in the room I started out from to this old transistor radio, where a gruff, ancient-sounding voice was chanting (that's the only word I can describe it as). Whatever words he might've said was drowned out by his thick accent and actual use of a language I didn't understand. After a few moments of half-minded interest I started to move away from it, only to hit the point of my sword on something... Something squishy.
The body. There, lying on the kitchen table. The impudence death must have had on this one to make it look (and smell) this way. It was emaciated, large portions of it decomposed to an extent that it looked like a putrid mess. And I was no mortician, but even I can see the relatively brutish-looking bite marks where portions of flesh had been ripped out from. Seriously, what's going on here? My gaming-affected mind drew conclusions, ranging from a zombie apocalypse to the fellows upstairs belonging to a cannibal cult, but the more rational side of me threw them out as quickly as they came; like really, a zombie apocalypse? Get real!
I backed out of the room fast. Most people would remember how they puked at the sight of it, or screamed their lungs out. Not me. I felt strangely detached at the macabre display, as I did when I saw the bodies out in the field, or when I was considering killing another in cold blood earlier on. My gaming experience may have had a large impact on that, but I was beginning to suspect that there was something more profound at hand. More bumps up top. People, animals, demons; whatever they were, they're about to meet me.
They know where the food is.

"NO NO NO of course not, I'm not sure why im here either!" I reply and point at the knife "Do you mind taking that away its scaring me."
The guy puts the knife away and says "I'm Jake" "dully noted" I say back and rub my neck where the knife had been. "I'm Leo."
"I guess we are stuck here together eh?" I ask Just as he was going to reply we here some footsteps and both raise up our weapons.

The sounds seem to have dissapeared but their is a low groaing sound coming from the back. I decide to do the smart thing and investigate. Katana in hand I open the back door and cautiously peek out Katan first when.......BAM nothing happened. It appears the groaning is coming from a nearby drain. What is in the sewers I think to myself. What have people been eating these days?
I continue on a bit into the yard looking for anyone else. The noise, or rather absense of it, had left an uneasy feeling in the air. I notice the nearby fence is snapped in half like something was in a hurry and ripped it apart. As I look closer I notice the bloodstains and gag. Something is deffinently wrong here and unless I find someone instead of something soon I am afraid I will be in trouble. I find a nearby ladder along with some food stocks still in the pantry. Gathered in my arms I take several painstaking trips to the top of the house and pulling up the ladder decide to camp out up their in my clothes with the small amount of food I could find. I just realized how much I hate broccoli.
