I have recently seen that the term "troll" is violently misused on community forums all around the world including this one. It has turned from something inheritely bad to something that's even considered a perk on some forums!

A troll these days is seemingly anyone who jokes by method of
- Sarcasm
- Ridicule
- Sketch (Pretending to be someone you are not and laying essence on some of the aspects in the one you pretend to be causing it to become rediculous and sometimes funny)

This is incorrect.


A troll is a member of a community with as sole reason to disrupt the community and cause hate, emotion. A troll isn't out to entertain the community - a troll is out to cause problems. Please note that this does not mean anyone who CAUSES disruption, hate, emotion is a troll. If someone legitly believes in the argumentation he brings forward and feels they belong on there he's merely a candy-ass, not a troll.

"What, you hate Twilight?! I LOVE TWILIGHT! It's like the new Nosferatu! It's of such great quality, other vampire movies absolutely suck! Their vampires dont even sparkle! So unrealistic. /derp"
would be considered trolling by some, for obviously something is said that is rather controversial, right?

Wrong. It's not trolling. It's sketching. He's pretending to be a twilight fan and wayyy over-doing it on purpose (Nosferatu is the first real vampire movie and is the opposite Twilight pretty much) making it painfully clear he isn't a fan at all.

"Holy crap you found out the reply button?! Kudo's to you! The brilliance shines from you!"

That wouldn't be trolling either! That's sarcasm. It's slightly rediculing to the one he refers to but that's about it.



Trolling essentially has no other purpose then attacking a forum and its community for the satisfaction of external individuals.

A real troll should be removed from Battle Dawn as quick as possible as they will do nothing but cause damage to these forums.

i didnt read it but a troll makes lame yokes about someone and a comedian make funny jokes a troll do say bad things about you like this forum sucks

If you didn't read it I suggest you don't respond. Would you review a book you did not read? Suggest things for a game you never played? Exactly. ;P

Correct, it's a troll albeit unsuccessfull.

So I take it that you're back for good now? Because I don't see the point in complaining about the censor system in tiny letters if you're going to log in once every 2 months.



That's another thing people take as trolling. Being honest even if it makes you look like a (Want to be allies? Sometimes I like to pretend I am a princess riding a pony..).

Gah, nah not really. I mean, I am mostly here because (as Ponk knows) I am waiting for a server to be upgraded and have nothing to do until then.
