whichever way you spin it. the legislation is inherently racist towards latinos.

The legislation is being racist or is it your misinterpretation? It's not the legislation that arrests or sends them back to their own country it's law enforcement.

the legislation gives them the right and power to target the minority latinos purely based on skin tones and looks in order to check for legality of status in the country. it actually calls for the targetting of that particular ethnic group.

again. point out the part that isnt racist or at least calls for racism under the veil of non discrimination.

The bill doesn't tell law enforcement "Hey if you see a brown person make sure you pull them over." No it doesn't. Thought you were following this whole thing how come you don't know about this, it's targeting illegals yes, but specifically brown people is false that's the law enforcements discrimination.

how do you target illegals, you are given a vague description "they are generally latino" you are given orders to carry out the legislation "you generally should target latinos, heck, if you are racist, i gave you the green light to harass these guys <3" you carry out the orders "target latinos"

I am torn over this, first i think its wrong and its racial profiling, but on the other hand i think if you are suppose to be hear and have your immigration papers, then you have nothing to worry about.

At least make it convenient and make your papers fit in your wallet, it's like a pamphlet. I understand it's not easy to carry around everywhere but in your car is an understandable place to have it (if you're don't live in a bad neighborhood) you've got enough rights to go to your vehicle and pull out of your glove box unless you've really made the pigster mad.

First of all seeing this post for the first time just now, the USA was founded on the right of free speech so dont go saying "sounds like a white supremesist why dont you leave". everyone is free to say there own opinion in the matter. and i just so happen to agree with the statement made that mexicans that cross our borders illegally dont belong here at all. and most of them are drug smuglers, and are criminals in mexico. i for one down want anymore criminals coming into the USA and causing eve nmore problems with our jail system.

anyone who willingly crosses our border is already breaking our laws by not applying for the right visas and trying to apply with the rest of the 200,000+ mexicans a year that we let move here legally.

Thirdly and lastely, they only come here for jobs. and we have little to no jobs available right now to the people that actually deserve them.

First: Gah. Morons.

Second: Getting a Visa takes submitting an application, 3-6 months and processing fees, (chances are youll do something wrong and have to submit it again).

After that you have to take a medical exam. Not just with any physician. You have to fly to meet a DHS approved physician. 3-6 weeks + Doctor Fee's.

Then you go to the interview. If your in the US on a tourist Visa? Guess what, you still have to fly back home and speak to your countries American consul. Where he asks various questions such as if you've ever committed a crime, discriminated against someone, shoved a girl in kindergarten during duck duck goose because you had a crush on her.

After all that's done you finally have a chance of getting a workers visa :D

When you could have simply caught a plane from your homeland to Central America, bribed a friendly drug lord to get you across the border, and then paid someone to give you a dead guy's social security number.

That process would have saved you a year of your life, several tons of money, and your sense of trust in the basic competence of the American government and authority in general. Sure, you might be breaking the law. Sure, you might end up dying of thirst in the desert, your bleached bones standing as an ironic symbol of the drawing power of the American dream. But at least none of the drug lords are going to casually pull you aside at the airport and ask you if you've ever been convicted of genocide.

A Poem Inscribed at the base of the Statue of Liberty.

The New Colossus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand

Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she

With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Third: American's won't do the jobs Mexican Immigrants will do. At least not without twice the pay and 3/4's the hours. They never TUK ER JYABS!

For the last 2 posts (don't feel like quoting).. First off Trevor it's hearsay to just say most Mexicans that cross the border are criminals or drug dealers in Mexico cause that goes both ways and it's not entirely true.

Twinks, that also is untrue it doesn't cost so much to get your Visa to and from Mexico.. From Europe or such countries on the east it's expensive and takes a long time. Mexicans do work some of our strenuous jobs we prefer not to do unless paid a lot more and less hours just because they're getting paid "fair" in their eyes. Mexico they get paid less for working in harder circumstances rather which is why they do our hard work and get paid less than us for it.

what i said wasnt hearsay. it is the truth. they bring drugs across the border. and it is like 30% of the people that cross the borders illegaly that have a criminal record. that is a fact, it might not be 30% i forgot the actual percentage so i just said 30 because i know its higher than 30%. and just because something was written on the statue of liberty doesnt make it a law.
after all, times change and countries need to change along with it. and there are 200,000+ mexicans allowed into our country every yeat legally. and allowed to stay here. i have no problem with them coming here as long as they dont break the laws and as long as they arent criminals and if they do it the right way. going through the desert and jumping a fence isnt the right way.

If they dont want to do it legally then they can stay in there own crappy country.
