Well the Day of Silence, or so it is called is for everyone who supports gay rights to not talk for a whole day because some 11 year old in mass., U.S. hung himself. My question is this: Why should we shutup for a day because someone hung himself when we can't give our troops a moment of silence? It sickens me.

dont you?

in australia we have a minutes silence. ANZAC day isnt just for the anzacs its to commemorate all aussies who have died in conflicts in service to australia.

ive never heard about day of silence, but the death of an 11 yr old is quite sad.

i seriously thought USA would have a national minute of silence at an appointed time.

Its not just about gay rights. Its about any type of bullying.

You don't have to participate, it's for anyone who wants to participate, they stay silent for a day to break the silence about bullying in schools. I never tried to stay silent, however every year I bought a t-shirt commemorating the event.

Anyways, rather than making extremely insensitive remarks about a child hanging himself because of bullying, you write your congressman if you think the troops deserve a moment of silence.

Even though they have an entire day devoted to them. An entire day where nearly every company gives you the day off, you go home and barbecue and visit the grave sites of those who gave their lives in the service of our nation.

Its celebrated on the last Monday in May. Its May 31, 2010 this year. love.

Think before you rant next time maybe?
please don't call others offensive things, thx :)

Bullying is fun.

On more serious matters, he did not mean it that bad, he was being realistic. You, on the other hand, Twink, are being "not so nice' to say it in the most friendly way I can ;)

He may have not meant it in a bad way. He did make himself sound very ignorant with that quasi-rant.

Stupidity shouldn't be tolerated in any form.

The fact that this topic is even in question is astonishing. The fact of the matter remains, that you can have your opinions, and express them. However, if you express that opinion in a manner of "bashing" someone, or who they are, just to get a result of your own thoughts, then in reality you are no better than those who bullied the individual to begin with.

The Day of Silence is a time of reflection. In the US we do have days to commemorate the Soldiers. Both whom are currently fighting for our freedom, as well as those whom have died, or survived wars past. It is called Veterans Day. It isn't just for those whom "have" been in the Military, it is for ALL Military occupants.

So, if you wanted to just state something about a day of "silence" for our Men in Arms, then say so. Do not bring "The Day of Silence" into a topic of your own disgust, nor hatred.
