Well, if you didn't use capital punishment in China, with the mass population you get a large amount of prisoners, so the huge amount of prisoners would undoubtedly be a huge strain on the state, no?

They are human beings, not flies that you can exterminate

And, Simmen that is interesting. If I ever get arrested in China, imma gonna talk to them and ask them to let me play BD. :D

And they get my winning tokens ofc :D

It doesn't make it ok...I've said somewhere before, I don't agree with the stuff China does but I can see their reasoning behind their actions.

American politics are completely flawed right now indeed. The single largest reason for this is that corporations have completely infiltrated the halls of government, and are given too much power to 'rig the game' under the process of lobbying.

It is going to take the American people becoming more active in the process, and understanding and addressing this process as the threat that it clearly is. Allowing corporations to throw their money at any politician they see fit to sway their vote on legislation toward that which benefits the corporate entities (a.k.a. - special interests) more than the American people themselves, needs to be confronted. Freedom of speech is indeed in accordance with the constitution, but large corporations are not people. They are groups of people whom are interested in profit first, and law and people the least. Allowing these groups more rights to freedom of speech simply because they have more money to buy more time to be heard, is simply counter to what the constitution has in mind.

This can be done by simply paying attention to your senators and representatives, and identifying those who clearly vote in favor of the corporations time and again, and letting them know that you are paying attention by writing to them personally as well as casting votes which put these sellouts out on their ear.

This is the major flaw of politics right now. The politicians themselves are selling out the American people to the highest bidder. The people need to wake up to this and start getting active in letting government know that they are waking up in any peaceful medium still available to them before those mediums are removed from them.

Ditto. Only important thing to note is, this is the case with any democracy out there. Though there might be other complications involved as well.
