I think the idea that the USA took him down is a very shaky one

I live in the Uk and our main news channels all stated that when osama was found he was unarmed and posing no obviously identifiable threat to the troops.

You know what i doubt i doubt that any of this is true, i reckon they attacked an old man in a pakistani village and then dumped him somewhere and do you want to know why, because everyone is sick of the war. The war was only ever about oil, if the taliban had been based in the middle of the australia would anybody have gone running down there to kill them-i somehow think not.

This story is just away of withdrawing whilst saving face, now they can say they did what they went to do and now they can leave, and next they will invade somewhere else who knows maybe pakistan itself as there may be the chance it is harbouring more fugitives or maybe some of the maghreb nations which have recently undergone a 'street revolution'.

I could agree with that. This war has cost billions. Maybe they found him, and they locked him up for good and said he is dead. Whatever. But as for Pakistan, there is now way the US or any other country is gonna be able to do it, i.e. invade them. Thats one strong country, you cant take down that easily.

I know that he can no longer hurt anyone anymore, but it makes me sick that people celebrate his death. I don't want to force my beliefs upon anyone, but it is my belief that all sins are equal in the eyes of God and nobody has the right to take another's life. People had no clue what they were truly celebrating.

You don't understand the reasons behind the celebrations. Yes it may be a little bit sickening that people are celebrating the death of Osama and I agree it sends the wrong message to our muslim allies and enemies in the middle east. But put yourself in their minds. Osama Binladen was the Boogie Man of our generation. After September 11th he was the face of terrorism to the United States. Killing him was killing the face of terrorism. Now did his death have any affect on terrorism in the middle east? No probably not. Though from the information we have gathered it seems that even from inside his "fortress" he was still very involved in the affairs of Al Qaeda. So it may have some affect on their affairs and strength

As for Pakistans involvement with Al Qaeda, Yes there is no question that they were supporting them. When we went in there were reasons that we didn't tell Pakistan that we were going in. We didn't trust Pakistan. Osama was literally hiding in basically a fortified mansion that was like a mile away from Pakistans main military academy. One of our Modified helicopters went down so we were unable to take Osamas family members with us to interrogate. When we came back for them the Pakistani government had already taken them and refused to hand them over to us. This makes Pakistan look even more guilty. What reasons will they have for keeping us from interrogating them unless there was a chance they knew of Pakistans involvement with Al Qaeda.

Obama dd not take full credit for the death of Osama. You should watch his announcement if you disagree. He talks about how it is the culmination of work from the past 11 years and how it was Bush's work too. People just assigned him the credit as he was the one who announced it.

A few corrections of what was previously said by some ignorant people. It was not a "Seal Team of 6" The actual mission had probably around 20 members on it. If you have seen the helicopters used those things are huge and hold a ton of people. What you may have been confused about was that this team was called Seal Team 6. The actual name is DEVGRU. It is one of our anti terrorism divisions. I may be wrong but I believe they report to the Department of Defense. There are alot more then the 20 actual members that went on the mission in DEVGRU which is a ton more then 6 seals. And actually DEVGRU does not work in extremely small teams of 3 like what was said normally. They do work in fairly small teams depending on the mission but around 20 is probably the average. As for Osama having no weapons yes he did have weapons. As for Osama using a woman to cover himself no he did not that was made up. As for Osama actually dying yes he did. As for Osama's burial at see it was done for the following reasons.

1) It prevented a memorial from being erected at his grave sight.
2) according to Muslim custom you must bury them within 24 hours of death.

Are you guys really going to start another conspiracy theory?

Very well said Gerberbaby1, except for the above (Osama possessing weapons and using that woman as a shield) which I dont exactly disagree with. I just say, no one knows. Unless its been on the news and Ive not caught up with it :D . Maybe he did use the woman as a shield, the wuss.

I read that Osama's family or friends, someone, called the burial at sea "disgraceful". I personally think, what Pat Condell thinks -

I think all you guys are funny :p
The man dead or Alive , In Sea or in Ground it doesn't matter what anyone thinks in my opinion .. !!!

The man deserved to Die and be diisgraced, humiliated, tortured, and many many more i should not mention ;)

And they have this guy that helped find the titanic and other sucessful treasure hunts on a mission to fine the body if he were thrown at sea...

I personally wish they would have put him at ground zero like a damn wall mount so every u.s. citizen could pass by and spit and and urinate on him everyday..

And any terroist associated with 911... If his family wanted any kind of sympathy they should of had some for the lives that were taking from the hands of Osama and made a deal with u.s. military to take him down but spare any more humiliation ..

But no they went on with there merily little lives probally with all the same intentions anyways ..!!!

Why? Just why? People that say no (I have not read all replies so I do not know who has) but why must you say no? I mean if you cannot at least trust your government for something as exciting and great as this then I don't know if you should live in these countries! I mean really not to be offensive but just wow. I really do understand that the government lies sometimes but not for things like this! I mean for instance some believe that the USA landing on the moon was a hoax! If Neil Armstrong was living a lie then he'd probably kill himself or be very unactive with the public and seem depressed. Same with Buzz and Mike who also landed on the moon. Governments cannot just lie about these things and like what Tom said Osama would not let America take this kind of self pride. I thought that he would have a video prepared for his death to send out after he died to make it seem like a lie and I am surprised he didn't I am not being insulting and respect opinion but see no sense in them! HE DIED. So long Osama.
