New experience with the settlement type so I have a question about how to use it. So I know that you have to upgrade an outpost to a settlement to relocate now the question I have is - is there a wait time after I click the option to upgrade? Like would i have to wait another 24 hours to do something or could I relocate right away?

Thanks in advance :)

You must wait an additional 24 ticks to relocate to a settlement after upgrading it.

Umm I don't think you have to wait.

I just relocated yesterday and I don't recall waiting another 24 hours after upgrading to settlement.

I had to wait when I relocated on E1, but I just waited cause it told me I had to. I didn't go ahead and try to relocate right away anyway. Maybe it's a glitch? o_O :|

Maybe, on E4 I built an OP, waited the 24, upgraded to settlement and relocate that same tick.

In either case if you can it'll tell you you can't.

Also to add another question regarding settlements. If I relocate, how would I transfer my units to the new settlement? Send them first then relocate or relocate and then send units. I remember reading a answer to this particular question, but can't seem to find it now.

Thanks,
~Selz~

I suggest that, to be 100% secure, you split your units between colony and settlement. Then relocate and move all to your new colony position.

However, if you have to make a choice, I suggest sending them first. After all, you can relocate freely, but you can't move all your units back at once ;) (Unless of course you don't have enough control ticks)

Jasper: You beat me.

Send some squads first. Then when they get to your relocation OP or near it, send the rest and relocate.

if you're relocating close by, you should send your squads first. That way you would hold out on relocating for as long as you can. And hopefully by the time you do relocate your squads would have landed or are close by.

Other way, if you're relocating far, is to build two ops (1 settlement, 1 TB) Build some squads to defend and then relocate.

All my units died when I relocated, because it was a 89 tick journey and they were destroyed on one of the outposts I took along the way.

Do the ones INSIDE your colony training, relocate with you?
