Those talking about how little subs there were with the higher cap, think again.
Sure there were less sub alliances, but essentially the same amount of players.
The lower cap is more close competition, and overall makes the rounds a little more fun for everybody, as opposed to the 24 people who happen to be dominating the server.
Cap is fine at 14 for Earth, 12 for Mars & Fantasy.

Precisely our thinking and after reviewing it carefully we decided we needed to drastically lower the alliance limit in all worlds, as I said, Earth may get a larger cap once we get to a situation of maintaining a 3k+ average perhaps but even then it would only go to maybe 16 or so. 24 players is too much and game mechanics just aren't set up to accommodate it. Let's just see how these next rounds go with the more traditional alliance cap and see if we can increase it from there.

andrew, i see that 24 is to much, but can u instead of sudently drop the alliance limits alot and then go up start with 18 and rather go down.. for all the people who have planed alliances, first with 24 members, then 18 members i don't argue against alot of updates, but 10 people less in a alliance in 1 update is to much! i so far i have seen far greater numbers on the 18 members side then 14, plz give it a chanse!

I agree with Simmen. I can see how 24 members is too much, i.e: GS, XI both rule the worlds they currently play on
But 14 members in one alliance?! thats a bit too much of a drop..something like 16 maybe, but with 14 members, you go back to the old client where the top 5 alliances were within a few k score of each other.

Don't forget these new sizes won't go into effect until server reset, the only world that is happening on right now is F3, the other worlds will take some time before reset.

Harvester, I dare say your wrong, if you look to the #1 alliance, on most worlds, they have no subs. That means 1 sub on old client. May I remind you of the sub empires with over 3 subs on Old Client? Subs were drastically decreased... Simply because dominating alliances dont need a sub anymore. While less-skilled ones still use them. To me, that's to mother of all solutions. Because newer alliance just use sub empires, but it's not needed for a win

Wrong, your forgetting the sheer fact that LoZ has sub's and alliances such as XI and XXIV (before it wen't down the hill) aren't to common and will never be defeatable without an alliance consisting of pure legends. 12 of both can still dominate. There is enough competition on the worlds without over-powered alliances, E4 for example (First HKF Vs DOOM Vs S, then HKF VS S VS Oil then FaF Vs DRAW Vs S and now DRAW VS S). E3 with Nasa, Neko, Mes and earlier HKF. E5 with FRXX and the other alliances (MoB was one right?) I think this encourages sub use, in a fact, it forces sub use because there will be an overload of players needing a new alliance, and 2 players can't conquer Antartica. :S
